What Comes in Each Kit
Every chai concentrate kit contains enough herbs and spices to make 2 batches, or 16 total servings, of delicious chai concentrate. Inside, you'll find:
- 2 (cotton) bags of high-quality black tea
- 2 (paper) bags of aromatic chai spices and herb blends
Tea and other spices are packaged separately to accommodate their different boiling times. Brewing instructions are also included, but here’s a quick overview.
Preparation
- Boil 8 cups of water with one spice bag uncovered until reduced to 6 cups (about 25 minutes).
- Remove from heat and add one tea bag. Steep for 10 minutes, then remove both bags.
- Sweeten while hot with up to 2/3 cup of honey or sugar for a pleasantly sweet blend.
- Chill the sweetened concentrate in the fridge until ready to use.
Serving Suggestions
- For chilled chai, mix the concentrate with your favorite milk in a 1:2 ratio and serve over ice.
- For warm chai, heat the concentrate in a mug or on the stove, adding milk and heating to your taste.
